I’m not a vegetarian, but I definitely like to eat my vegetables and substitute meats with vegetables from time to time. Here I’ve replaced chicken with cauliflower. It’s texture makes for a pretty good meat replacement. With garlic and parmesan added to the sauce this will please even the meat eaters. It’s really simple. Try it out.
- 1 large cauliflower head cut into pieces
- 1/3 cup grated parmesan
- 2 cloves of garlic minced
- 12 oz Frank’s RedHot sauce or your favorite hot sauce
- 3 tbsp butter melted
- 1 egg + 1/4 cup of milk
- 2 cups of bread crumbs
Marinate the cauliflower pieces in about 6oz of hot sauce. Refrigerate for about an hour.
Coat each piece in the egg milk mixture, then coat in bread crumbs. Repeat with the rest of the cauliflower and place on a baking sheet.
Bake at 450˙F for 20 mins. Mix remaining hot sauce, butter, parmesan, and garlic together and coat cauliflower pieces.
Bake for an additional 10 mins and serve with creamy herb dressing or blue cheese.
